Amy was awarded a Doctoral Disertation Fellowship for the 2019/2020 academic year! Great work Amy. Keep it up.
Congratulations to senior undergrad James Cox, who won the ACS Division of Organic Chemistry Undergraduate Award in Organic Chemistry! This award is intended to recognize senior students who display a significant aptitude for organic chemistry and to encourage further interest in the field. We're not in anyway surprised, because we are well aware of James' excellence in organic chemistry. Soon though, he will leave us to join the chemistry department at Princeton University! Congrats again James, and we wish you the best of luck in grad school!
Joe wrote a letter to the editor of Chemical and Engineering News, and it was printed! His letter was in response to their article "Science is using the wrong incentives" (https://cen.acs.org/policy/research-funding/Science-using-wrong-incentives/97/i8). If you'd like to read his letter, go to the April 12, 2019 edition of C&EN and read the Reactions section (https://cen.acs.org/acs-news/publishing/Reactions/97/i15)!
